Jean Reid-Brinkley was born in Chattanooga, TN 1933 and now residing in Houston, TX, Jean Reid-Brinkley represents a powerful 93 year old legacy of family, education, leadership, and service. A devoted matriarch, she is the proud mother of five children, grandmother of thirteen, great-grandmother of seventeen, and great-great-grandmother of one.
Jean’s lifelong commitment to education began with earning her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Huston–Tillotson University, then known as Huston–Tillotson College. She later continued her academic journey by obtaining a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Prairie View A&M University, then known as Prairie View A&M College.
Throughout her life, Jean has exemplified wisdom, dedication, and a deep commitment to uplifting others through learning and community connection. Her passion for preserving family history and honoring generational ties makes her an especially meaningful voice for this occasion.
At the 3M Reunion, Jean Reid-Brinkley will serve as the keynote speaker representing the three family legacies. In addition to sharing words of inspiration and reflection, she will also provide valuable insight and assistance regarding both the Martin and Marshall family histories, helping bridge generations through knowledge, remembrance, and storytelling.
Her presence serves as a reminder that family history is not simply about names and dates, but about the lives, values, and enduring connections that continue to shape future generations.
